A Cultural and Scientific Center for Weaving Heritage

In the mountain village of Anogeia, with an unobstructed view toward the sacred summit of Mount Psiloritis, the creative spirit of Crete seems vibrantly alive. The architect and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Constantza Sbokou-Konstantakopoulou, has restored her grandmother's house and workshop from the late 1940s, transforming it into a Center for Weaving and Craft Heritage that supports the local community and welcomes every visitor.

More than an exhibition of rare handwoven textiles, it stands as a living heirloom of the island's intangible cultural heritage. Within its walls, traditional looms continue to resound, carrying the thread from Minoan traditions into the future, as artisans revive ancient techniques in a space dedicated to the preservation of Cretan craftsmanship.
